I have always loved jewelry. I can remember visiting my Grandma Edie in Miami Beach as a little girl, and she would call us up to her room, and ask if we wanted to try on her jewelry. We would calmly sit on the edge of her bed, and quietly wait as she distributed pieces for us to try on, one at a time, with much pomp and circumstance. Each piece was special, and each piece had a fascinating story. We were captivated then, and I am still captivated by jewelry today.
Through CaratJuice.com I hope to share my passion for jewelry while exploring historic collections, antique and period jewelry, the latest designs and trends, gemological finds, celebrity styles, upcoming exhibitions, and more. I hope you are as captivated, fascinated, and excited as I am by my discoveries.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy!
My career as a jeweler and gemologist has been a colorful journey. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I have collected gems and minerals for as long as I can remember.
I am a Graduate Gemologist, television host, and business development strategist. Prior to my gemological training, I earned a Bench Jewelers Certificate and studied gemstone faceting, and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas. I have logged over 4600 hours of live hosting on national TV, in both the US and UK markets. In 2011, I was presented with the Austin Chronicle’s “Best of Austin” media leadership award for Outstanding Television Host.
I am also an innovator and entrepreneur, and I am excited about history, research, design, antiques, and photography. Most of all, I am passionate about connecting with people and creating dialogues. Throughout my career, I have been very fortunate to work with many leading networks, publications, programs, and individuals who are leaders within their fields, including TIME, ESPN Magazine, Annie Leibovitz, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, The Liquidation Channel, The Jewellery Channel, Segway Inc., and Nike Inc.
